  Good News – Beja Bible

Luke’s Gospel, also called ‘Good News told by Luke’ is one of four accounts of the life and work of Jesus the Messiah.  This is the one you are reading here. The others are  Matthew, Mark, (who wrote for Peter) Jesus chief companion and disciple, and John. These last three were all disciples of Jesus who were with him during his work and ministry.  Luke was not with Jesus but, as his account says, he gathered all the information he could and wrote it down in an orderly manner.

‘Good News told by Luke’ forms part of the New Testament, that is, the group of four gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, (the work of God among his people immediately after the death and resurrection of Jesus, his going up into heaven, and the growth of the Church immediately afterwards) some letters by Paul, John, the writer to the Hebrews, and Jude, and finally the Vision that God gave to John about the Judgment and the End Times.

These works all witness to the love of God for the people of this world, and the Beja people,  the life of Jesus the Messiah, his teaching, his miracles. They describe in detail his death on the cross, his resurrection from the dead, his going into heaven, and the work of Gods Holy Spirit among his people.

The Bible itself is the story of how God created the world, how men disobeyed him and rebelled against him, how he began and completed a rescue operation. It is a story of how God loves the people of the world, including the Bewawiet people. How he sent the Messiah to rescue them.

The Bible starts with the ‘Old Testament’ which begins about 1500 years before Jesus with God creating the world, Adam and the life of Abraham and his relationship with God. This is told in ‘books’ of which the first is the Book of Genesis which we have included next, although it comes right at the beginning.  After this comes the story of Abrahams family, the life of the Hebrews and how God rescued them from oppression and slavery in Egypt, how they continually disobeyed him and how he would bring them back to himself, and how he brought them into the land that he had given them. there is also much poetry, the psalms, and proverbs. There is much prophecy about the Messiah who God would send into the world, and these prophecies are fulfilled in Jesus.

In all, the bible has 66 books, letters, books of poetry and history and prophecy. Altogether they are written by about 40 people.

Not all this is yet available in Bedawiet. These will appear in due course. On this website you will first see  the Good News by Luke. Then will come Genesis; the account of God creating the world, Adam and the account of Abraham. Then will come the  other ‘gospels’ by Matthew, Mark, and John. We will include Ruth, a short book from the Old Testament.
